"First off, this project started about half a lifetime ago and at the time, I was recording on a painfully basic rig due to being in the midst of a move. Of course you wouldn't expect me to let something like that impede me and as a result the first iteration of 'Funny Dawg' was trash. I wouldn't touch it again for nearly two years before discovering that, due to licensing restrictions, my track which featured original lyrics and vocals was inadmissible. So I facepalmed, returned to the drawing board dejected and proceeded to write the current iteration of the track except for one notable difference: out of angsty frustration, I had decided to replace the aforementioned vocal melody with a kazoo. Thinking I was mad clever, I sent the track in to Mustin who promptly shot down the kazoo but then offered to replace it with his sexy sax. SCORE! I started writing some violin parts for the second pass through the 'verse' but when I found myself swarmed with other projects, fortuitously slid it over to Jay who busted a sweet part that worked out nicely! When the sax came back, my suspicion was confirmed: perfection. (keep an eye out for that vocal mix though heh)" ~ zykO
